Community Shoe Bank of the Ramey Area
Note: Shoe Bank is closed for summer. We will re-open on August 8, 2009!
In January, the Ramey United Methodist Charge took a "Leap of Faith" and started a new community outreach to supply shoes to children of low income families in our local communities. The shoe bank opened on Saturday, January 10, 2009. The shoe bank will be open on the second Saturday of each month following (excluding June and July).
Shoes are given to children (ages birth to 18 years) in the Mo Valley and Glendale school districts who have a current Access or Blue Chip Card. The children receive new, free shoes and socks on a regularly scheduled basis. Also, free age-appropriate books will be given to each child! Other family members may choose from a selection of gently used shoes.
We hope that this ministry will be a blessing to many families in our communities. We believe that no child should go without needed shoes! If you have any questions or would like to support this initiative with gifts or time, please contact Mrs. Chris McCracken, coordinator, at 814-378-5186.
Please keep this ministry in your prayers!
